YIASCM organises ‘Jhoom Barabar’ - A Bollywood-themed culinary extravaganza

Mangaluru, March 1: The department of Hospitality Science at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management (YIASCM) hosted a Bollywood-themed theme Dinner – "Jhoom Barabar", creating an unforgettable evening of culinary excellence and entertainment. The event took place on February 25, at the YIASCM Balmatta campus, welcoming 100 distinguished guests.

The venue was transformed into a vibrant Bollywood- inspired setting, immersing attendees in the glamour of Indian cinema. The students of the department curated and served a meticulously designed three-course continental menu, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity.

The event was inaugurated with a ceremonial cake-cutting, led by Dr Shareena P – vice principal & dean, faculty of commerce & management, Mervin Jaison Vas – head, department of Hospitality Science, Chef Komal Prabhu – owner, Maharaja Multi-Cuisine Family Restaurant, Mangaluru, Dr Rathnaker Shetty – head, department of Computer Science, Vasudev Shenoy – PG coordinator, computer science, Shalini Sequeira – head, department of Linguistic Studies, Utkarsh Singh – head, department of Hospitality, Yenepoya Bengaluru campus, champ Yen Chef Jyothsna Ashwath – winner of ChampYen Chef (Yenepoya's cooking reality show – Season 1)

The evening was filled with electrifying performances, including live Bollywood music by Afreed and team from BB Gold & Diamond, who captivated the audience with soulful melodies.

Additionally, the event recognised and felicitated sponsors for their generous support. The winners of the reels competition were honoured and awarded prizes, adding a competitive and celebratory spirit to the night.

The theme dinner – "Jhoom Barabar" was a resounding success, blending culinary artistry, cultural celebration, and live entertainment. The event exemplified the dedication, talent, and hospitality expertise of YIASCM students, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. The evening was seamlessly hosted by talented students, ensuring a lively and engaging experience for the audience.
