Udupi, Mar 1: The Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal, and Muniyal Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy successfully hosted a seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) special camp titled “A journey of service, learning, and community engagement" at the Rural Education Society group of institutions, Vidyanagar, Patla, Udupi District.
The camp, which took place from February 17 to 23, provided an enriching experience for participants, emphasising community service, education, and personal growth.
The NSS camp was led by distinguished directors including Dr Sathyanarayan B, principal, Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Dr Navaneeth K P, NSS project officer, Dr Ashita R, NSS nodal officer & camp coordinator, and Dr Reeny Ravina Dias, NSS camp co-coordinator. Their effective leadership and strategic planning ensured the camp's success.


The camp was inaugurated on February 17. The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Narayan Shenoy, president of the Rural Education Society, Vidyanagar, Patla; Dr Sathyanarayan B, principal of Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences; Yogeesh Shetty, chief administrative officer of Muniyal Group of Institutions; and Chaitra, president Gram Panchayat, Manipura.
The NSS camp followed a structured and disciplined daily routine that blended physical activities, community service, and educational sessions. The focus of the camp was to foster teamwork, social responsibility, and life skills in the volunteers. Throughout the week, participants engaged in various activities aimed at community development while learning valuable lessons about leadership, responsibility, and collaboration.
The camp concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony on February 23, which marked the successful conclusion of this transformative experience. The ceremony was presided over by Dr Sathyanarayan B, principal of Muniyal Institute of ayurveda medical sciences; Dr Shraddha V Shetty, trustee, Muniyal Group of Institutions; V G Baikadi , administrator, Rural Education Society group of Institutions, Vidyanagar Patla; Shanthappa Moolangi, headmaster of US Nayak High School, Vidyanagara Patla; and Dr Navaneeth K P, NSS officer.
This seven-day NSS special camp at the Rural Education Society Vidyanagar, Patla, proved to be a resounding success. The camp provided a platform for volunteers to serve the community while honing their personal and professional skills. Through their service, teamwork, and discipline, the participants were able to make meaningful contributions while instilling values of leadership, community engagement, and social responsibility. The impact of this camp will undoubtedly resonate with both the volunteers and the community for years to come.
