Mangaluru, Mar 4: The residents of Shakthinagar have come forward to defend MLA Vedavyas Kamath, denying claims that he made controversial remarks during a religious event at Shakthinagar.

Speaking to the media, HK Purushottam said, "MLA Vedavyas Kamath has contributed significantly to the development of Shakthinagar. He is kind and humble to everyone. No such remarks were made by him during the religious event."

He further added, "These allegations are a deliberate attempt to defame MLA Vedavyas Kamath, disrupt the event, and tarnish Shakthinagar's reputation. We suspect a conspiracy and believe Yashwanth Prabhu is behind it."

When questioned about the alleged statement by the MLA regarding stone pelting at the temple being invited, the residents firmly denied it. They condemned the act of gheraoing the MLA and expressed deep hurt over the false allegations.

Residents Kushal Kumar, Pushpa B Shetty, Ashok Nayak, and Harish Kumar were present.
