Patna, Mar 5: In a bid to woo young voters ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made key promises addressing unemployment and job creation during the Yuva Chaupal rally in Patna on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Miller High School ground, Yadav pledged to establish a Youth Commission within a month if the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan comes to power. He also announced plans to implement a domicile policy ensuring preference for Bihar’s youth in government jobs.
Slamming the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, Yadav accused it of failing to curb unemployment and migration, stating that Bihar needs a young leader to address its challenges. With 58% of the state’s population aged between 18 and 25, he positioned himself as the leader for Bihar’s future.

As part of his election promises, Yadav assured that under his government, candidates applying for competitive exams would not have to pay application fees, and their travel expenses to examination centers would be covered by the state.
Taking a jibe at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Yadav likened him to a "junk car" incapable of steering Bihar forward due to his age. He urged young voters to mobilize support for RJD, calling on each attendee to secure 10 votes for the party to bring about change.
The Yuva Chaupal witnessed a massive turnout, with over 500 vehicles carrying RJD supporters from various districts to participate in the event. With the elections approaching, youth employment has emerged as a key political issue, with parties making significant promises to secure votes.
