Panaji, Mar 6: The Goa electricity department has initiated a 33KV underground cabling project in Calangute, aiming to strengthen power infrastructure and support the region’s thriving tourism sector.

Officials stated that the project will ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply, addressing frequent outages that have affected businesses and residents. The underground cables will also reduce risks associated with overhead wiring, improving safety and aesthetic appeal in the popular tourist hub.

With Calangute being one of Goa’s most visited destinations, authorities believe the upgraded power network will contribute to economic growth by enhancing the hospitality and service industries. Local stakeholders have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about its long-term benefits.
