AAP-BJP faceoff over Mahila Samridhi Yojana intensifies

New Delhi, Mar 9: A fresh political war of words erupted between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the implementation of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana in Delhi.

AAP MLA Atishi slammed the BJP-led Delhi government for failing to deposit Rs 2,500 into the accounts of eligible women by March 8, accusing the party of misleading voters with ‘lies’ and ‘fraud.’

Responding sharply, Delhi BJP MP Yogender Chandolia hit back, saying, “Atishi should first address unfulfilled promises in Punjab before questioning us. The BJP government has allocated Rs 51 cr, and the portal will be launched soon.”

Under the scheme, women from families earning up to Rs 3 lac annually, especially those from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, are eligible. The registration process will follow a multi-level verification system to prevent fraud.

With AAP maintaining that no funds have been transferred yet, the political battle over the scheme continues to heat up.
