Amritsar, Mar 15 : In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants hurled a grenade at a temple in Amritsar, marking the first attack on a religious place in Punjab. The explosion, which occurred late on Friday night, triggered panic among devotees and locals in the area.
According to police sources, the attack took place at a prominent temple, with initial reports suggesting that the explosive device was lobbed from a moving vehicle. Security agencies have launched a probe into the incident, and forensic teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the site.

While no casualties have been reported, the explosion caused damage to the temple premises. Senior police officials rushed to the spot and assured strict action against those responsible.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann condemned the attack, stating that attempts to disrupt Punjab’s communal harmony would not be tolerated. Security has been tightened across the state, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
