Yenepoya Institute shines with four prestigious NSS State Awards for outstanding community service

Mangaluru, Mar 15: The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management, a constituent college of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), achieved an incredible feat by receiving four NSS State Awards State NSS department of youth empowerment and sports, State NSS cell government of Karnataka for its outstanding contributions to community service and social welfare.

The awards were conferred by the honorable governor of Karnataka, Thaawar chand Gehlot at a prestigious ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Bangalore. Randeep D IAS, secretary to the government, of youth empowerment and sports, government of Karnataka, Chethan R IPS commissioner of department youth empowerment & sports govt of Karnataka, Dr Prathap Lingaiah, State NSS officer, department youth empowerment & sports govt of Karnataka. D Carthigueane, regional director, regional directorate of NSS were present during event.

The event was attended by Dr Arun A Bhagwath, principal of Yenepoya Institute of arts, science, commerce & management, Dr Ashwini Shetty, programme coordinator, NSS Yenepoya (Deemed to be University.

The following individuals from YIASCM were recognized for their exceptional service:

1. Pavitra Shetty – Awarded Best State NSS programme officer for his leadership, commitment, and exceptional guidance to NSS volunteers, ensuring successful execution of numerous social welfare programmes.

2. Yenepoya Institute's Best NSS Unit – Recognized as the Best NSS Unit-1 for its consistent efforts in organizing impactful community service projects, ranging from health camps to environmental initiatives, benefiting marginalized communities across the region.

3. Mohammed Nishwan – Awarded Best State NSS volunteer for his dedication and hard work in community outreach, environmental conservation efforts, and rural development projects.

4. Dhanyashree D Bhat – Awarded Best State NSS volunteer for her selfless contributions to social welfare, particularly her involvement in health and education initiatives in rural areas.

Dr Arun A Bhagwath, principal of Yenepoya Institute, expressed immense pride in the achievement, stating, "These awards are a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, and NSS volunteers. We are incredibly proud of Pavitra Shetty, our NSS unit, and all the awardees for their exceptional contributions to society. In a joint statement, the chancellor, pro chancellor, vice chancellor, pro vice chancellor, registrar, and statutory officials stated, "Our University has always prioritized the development of character and social consciousness among our students.
