Criminal shot in leg during encounter with UP police in Noida, arrested

Noida, Mar 19: A wanted criminal was shot in the leg and arrested following a brief encounter with Uttar Pradesh Police in Noida on Tuesday night.

According to police officials, the accused was intercepted during a routine patrol but attempted to flee. When challenged, he opened fire at the police, prompting retaliatory action. He sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was overpowered by the police.

The injured suspect was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment, and his condition is said to be stable. Authorities confirmed that he has multiple cases registered against him, including charges of robbery and attempted murder.

A firearm and ammunition were recovered from his possession. Further investigation is underway to determine his possible links with other criminal activities in the region.
