New Delhi, Mar 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly criticized the West Bengal government for its reluctance in establishing a special CBI court in the state.
Addressing the issue, Shah expressed concern over the state government’s unwillingness to cooperate with central investigative agencies. He emphasized that setting up a special CBI court is crucial for ensuring swift and fair trials in cases involving serious offenses.

"The reluctance of the Bengal government raises questions about its commitment to transparency and justice," he remarked, adding that such resistance only hampers the progress of investigations.
Shah further reiterated the Centre’s stand on strengthening law enforcement mechanisms across the country and urged the state administration to reconsider its stance for the larger interest of justice.
Meanwhile, political tensions continue to escalate between the BJP-led Centre and the Trinamool Congress government over issues related to law and order and governance in the state.
