Chandigarh, Mar 20: Intensifying their agitation, farmers in Punjab and Haryana have announced plans to protest outside the Deputy Commissioner (DC) offices across both states. The demonstrations are aimed at pressing for their pending demands, including a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP), farm loan waivers, and compensation for crop losses.
Farmers' unions have called for a peaceful yet firm demonstration, emphasizing that their grievances have not been adequately addressed despite multiple rounds of talks with the government. Security has been heightened in various districts to prevent any untoward incidents.
The protest is part of a larger movement by farmers who have been demanding long-term policy changes and financial support to safeguard their livelihoods. Leaders of the agitation have urged the administration to respond promptly to their concerns to avoid further escalation of the protest.
