Udupi, Mar 20: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna met with the minister of information technology and biotechnology, Priyank Kharge, urging the approval of an IT-BT Park in Udupi, a long-standing demand of the youth in the region.

Udupi, widely known as an educational hub, has consistently achieved remarkable academic results and gained recognition on a global scale. The district boasts excellent connectivity through road, rail, air, and water transport, making it an ideal location for various industries. Additionally, Udupi has made significant contributions in tourism, fisheries, religious centres, education, healthcare, banking, and the cooperative sector.

Every year, thousands of students graduate in engineering, yet due to a lack of suitable employment opportunities within the district, many are forced to migrate to other cities and states in search of jobs. Providing local employment opportunities for talented graduates is a collective responsibility.

To address this issue and retain skilled professionals within the district, MLA Yashpal Suvarna has requested the government to take special measures to implement the IT-BT Park project in Udupi. He has suggested that the project be executed either through government initiatives or private sector participation to create local employment opportunities and boost the region's economic growth.
