Gangtok, Mar 21: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spearheading an era of rapid transformation in the Northeast, emphasizing the region’s remarkable progress over the past decade.
Speaking at a public event, Tamang highlighted how the Modi-led government has prioritized the Northeast, bringing in large-scale infrastructure projects, improved connectivity, and economic growth. He noted that initiatives like the expansion of highways, railway networks, and air connectivity have bridged the developmental gap, ensuring that the region is no longer neglected.

"The Northeast was once considered a remote and inaccessible part of the country, but under PM Modi's leadership, it has emerged as a hub of development and opportunities," Tamang said. He also praised the government’s focus on tourism, healthcare, and entrepreneurship, which has significantly boosted local economies.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the Centre’s continued support in uplifting the region and reaffirmed his commitment to working alongside the Modi government for the betterment of Sikkim and the entire Northeast.
