Konkan Yuva organises blood donation drive in collaboration with SMMC & YAM Dubai

Media Release

Dubai, Mar 22: The recent blood donation drive organized by Konkan Yuva in collaboration with St Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC) and Young Adults Ministry (YAM) Dubai on March 19 was a great success. Held at the Dubai Health Center, Jaddaf, the event saw overwhelming support from volunteers and donors who came together for a noble cause.

A total of 85 participants, volunteers, and well-wishers joined the initiative, and 70 donors were successfully able to contribute blood. The drive, conducted with the supervision of medical professionals, aimed to support the UAE's blood bank reserves and raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation.

Konkan Yuva, founded in February 2005, continues its mission of creating a community ‘home away from home’ for Konkani youth in the UAE. Under the guidance of spiritual leaders at St Mary's Church, Dubai, the organization has hosted numerous events that foster unity and celebration within the community. And this blood donation campaign is just one of the many events organized by Konkan Yuva, particularly every year during Ramadan and Lent, showcasing their long-standing commitment to community welfare.

Key representatives of the event, including Denzil Moras (president of Konkan Yuva), Joseph Mathias (SMMC coordinator), and Rachael Joseph (YAM coordinator), expressed their gratitude to all donors and volunteers. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the donors, highlighting the vital message that ‘Be the reason someone smiles – donate blood!’.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Konkan Yuva to engage the community in meaningful social causes, and the success of the drive encourages such endeavors in the future.
