Udupi: Valedictory ceremony of Varnothsava 2K25 held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Mar 22: The valedictory ceremony of Varnothsava-2K25, the state-level intercollegiate techno-cultural fest, was held on March 21, at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal. The fest has witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 students representing various institutes across Karnataka in a variety of exciting events.

The event was presided over by his holiness Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, president of SSVMET, Udupi. In his presidential address, his holiness shared a thought-provoking story about a thief and a runner, illustrating how people often become so engrossed in competition that they forget to enjoy the journey. He emphasized that while competition is an integral part of life, it should not define it entirely. He also extended his blessings to the guest of honour and chief guest, wishing them success and fulfillment in their endeavors.

The chief guest, Vinod John, practice head - Analog/Memory at Mirafra Technologies, reminisced about his college days and praised Varnothsava for beautifully showcasing the spectrum of life. He urged students to give their 100% without expecting appreciation, face challenges without complaints, and uphold the three pillars of happiness and success humility, honesty, and hard work.

The guest of honor, Pruthvi Ambar, a renowned celebrity, lauded the vision of his holiness in shaping the institution and remarked that students and faculty are truly fortunate to be part of such an institute. He shared how witnessing Michael Jackson’s moonwalk profoundly inspired him and played a transformative role in his journey. He advised students to stay alert to opportunities and emphasized that true success is meaningful only when celebrated with parents and friends.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Rathnakumar, secretary, SSVMET, Udupi, P Srinivas Tantry, vice-president of SSVMET Udupi, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice principal, Dr Renita Sharon Monis, technical coordinator, and Varun, business carnival coordinator.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by Arun Upadhyaya, in-charge HOD, department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Dr Renita Sharon Monis, assistant professor (SG) from the department of Mathematics presented a brief report on the events of Varnothsava-2K25. The winners of various technical and cultural competitions were announced by Savitha Shenoy, senior assistant professor, department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Nagaraj Rao, In charge HOD, department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

A J Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru, emerged as the overall champion of Varnothsava-2K25, while SDM P G Centre for Management Studies and Research, Mangaluru, secured the runners-up position.
