Mangaluru, Mar 22: The postgraduate department of Studies and Research in Social Work, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) will be organizing one day national seminar titled ‘Building inclusive societies: Social management strategies for sustainable development’ on March 25 at L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block Hall, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.
The chief guest for the inaugural programme, Sanjay Paswan, former central minister (ministry of HRD) and professor of management, Patna University, Bihar, will inaugurate the seminar. The valedictory programme will be graced by, chief guest, Dr Farita Veigas, dean, School of Education, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Mangaluru.


Following are the sessions after inaugural programme:
Keynote session: Dr Sanjay Paswan, professor of management, Patna University, Bihar.
Plenary session 1: Inclusive leadership for sustainable development, Dr Pramanshi Jaideva, associate professor, department of history, Pataliputra University, Patna Bihar.
Plenary session 2: Social entrepreneurship: Dr Purnima Venkat, development consultant & faculty, T A Pai Management Institute, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
Apart from the above sessions, online concurrent paper presentations by researchers on the different sub themes of the seminar will also be held on March 26.
Participants of the seminar include students of social work and other disciplines, educators and research scholars local, within state and other states of India. The aim of this seminar is to explore effective social management strategies that promote equity, inclusion and sustainability, while addressing contemporary challenges and proposing practical solutions.
