Saharanpur, Mar 22: A tragic incident unfolded in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, when BJP leader Yogesh Rohilla allegedly shot his wife and three children in the Gangoh police station area, authorities reported.

The brutal attack led to the death of his son and 11-year-old daughter. His wife and another child are currently fighting for their lives in critical condition.

Officials revealed that Rohilla, a BJP executive member, was arrested at the scene. The firearm used in the shooting has been recovered by the police.

Saharanpur's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rohit Sajwan, quickly responded to the crime scene upon receiving the distress call. According to SSP Sajwan, Rohilla's actions were driven by suspicions of his wife's alleged infidelity, which reportedly triggered the violent outburst.

"Yogesh Rohilla shot his wife and children, fueled by doubts about his wife's loyalty. The two children died on the spot, while the wife and the surviving child are in critical condition," Sajwan stated.

Sources suggest that Rohilla had been experiencing significant mental distress in recent days, although he had not shared his troubles with neighbors or anyone in his community.

The horrific event occurred in Sangatheda village, leaving local residents in disbelief and horror. Police, assisted by a forensic team, have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
