'Excelso-2025’ – Inter-collegiate UG competition organised at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Mar 22: Milagres College, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Commerce and Management, successfully organised ‘Excelso-2025’, a one-day national-level inter-collegiate undergraduate competition, at the college auditorium on March 22.

The event was inaugurated by Jeethan Castelino, founder and director- NLite Energy Solutions LLP. In his address, he highlighted that inter-collegiate festivals like these play a significant role in students’ overall development and personality enhancement. He described the competition as an excellent platform for students to explore and prepare for the competitive world.

Glavin D’Souza, president of JCI, graced the occasion as the chief guest and encouraged students to develop leadership qualities and entrepreneurial skills.

The event was presided over by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth Correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions. In his presidential address, he emphasised the importance of such competitions in helping students showcase their talents, creativity, and skills alongside academics.

Fr Dr Michael L Santhumayor, principal of Milagres College, extended his best wishes to all the participants.

The event was co-coordinated by Rohan Dsouza and Royston D’Cunha, along with student leader Juhi Joyce D’Cunha, who were present on the dais.

Around 110 students from 11 undergraduate colleges affiliated with Mangalore University enthusiastically participated in the competition. The event featured various contests, including Masters of Management, Customer Connectors, People’s Pulse, and Quizology, specifically designed for undergraduate students.

In the college category, Yenepoya College, Kuloor emerged as the overall champion, while Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar secured the runner-up position.

The event began with a welcome speech by Joel Mascarenhas, faculty member. The programme was anchored by student Maryam, while Glencia Fernandes, head of the Department of Commerce and the event coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks.
