Shocking murder in Hyderabad: Man hacked to death in LB Nagar

Hyderabad, Mar 23: A gruesome murder unfolded in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar area late Saturday night, as unidentified assailants brutally hacked a man to death, police reported on Sunday.

The attackers first knocked down the victim with a car before launching a vicious assault using axes and knives, leaving him dead on the spot. The shocking incident, which took place in Shiva Ganga Colony under the jurisdiction of LB Nagar police station in Rachakonda Commissionerate, was captured on CCTV.

The victim, identified as Boddu Mahesh, had recently been released on bail in a criminal case. Footage shows that after being hit by the vehicle, Mahesh attempted to flee, but the attackers chased him down and executed the fatal assault.

Police suspect the murder stemmed from an ongoing feud. Preliminary investigations suggest that Mahesh, a resident of Bharat Nagar, had a longstanding rivalry with a man named Purshottam. Their animosity reportedly began two years ago following a minor dispute, which escalated when Purshottam allegedly attacked Mahesh with beer bottles. In retaliation, Mahesh’s associates later attacked Purshottam.

Recently, Mahesh had been arrested for stabbing two individuals at a clinic in Chaitanyapuri but was released on bail. His family believes his murder was premeditated and have provided police with names of the suspected killers in their complaint.

Senior police officials visited the crime scene, and LB Nagar Police have launched a full-scale investigation. Special teams have been formed to track down the culprits, and CCTV footage is being analyzed to gather critical leads.

Authorities are working swiftly to apprehend those responsible and bring justice to the victim’s family, while heightened security measures have been put in place in the area to prevent further violence.
