Goa Budget Session begins amid opposition criticism

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Mar 23: The three-day Budget Session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is set to commence on Monday, March 24, with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant scheduled to present the State Budget for 2025-26 on March 26, the final day of the session.

A total of 728 questions have been submitted by MLAs for discussion. The first two days will focus on debating the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address, which was tabled on February 6.

Opposition leaders have strongly criticized the short duration of the session, accusing the BJP-led government of avoiding accountability on issues such as corruption, mismanagement, and the collapse of law and order. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao claimed the government is deliberately limiting the session to evade discussions and escape scrutiny.
