New Delhi, Mar 24: Massive passenger congestion due to multiple train delays triggered chaos at the New Delhi Railway Station on Sunday. However, railway officials clarified that there was ‘no stampede’ or ‘stampede-like situation.’
The heavy rush was reported mainly at platforms 12 and 13, where delayed departures led to crowding. Passengers were seen scaling barricades and jumping queues in frustration.

Senior railway officials, including the senior commandant of the RPF and the station director, were present to manage the situation. Authorities implemented crowd control measures, guiding unreserved passengers through holding areas.
Delhi Police also stepped in to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents. Officials later confirmed that a few trains had departed and the situation was under control.
