Mangaluru: St Agnes College EDF organises 'Wealth out of Waste' fest

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 24: The EDF (Entrepreneurship Development Forum) of St Agnes College organized an inspiring fest titled ‘Wealth out of waste’, which brought together students from various departments. The event aimed to promote creativity and awareness about sustainable living by reusing waste materials. It began with a warm introduction by Khushi, followed by a heartfelt welcome for the two esteemed judges Geethanjali Prabhu and Lavita, assistant professors of English and mathematics respectively.

The highlight of the event was the ramp walk, where models showcased innovative outfits designed entirely out of waste materials. Each designer explained the creative process, including the materials used and the biodegradable aspects of the designs. This segment not only displayed artistic talent but also emphasized the importance of sustainability.

The event continued with an engaging quiz on the theme of waste management and sustainability, where participants enthusiastically answered questions. Winners of both the ramp walk and the quiz were awarded prizes as a token of appreciation.

The fest concluded with an expression of gratitude and an insightful talk by the judges, who shared valuable thoughts on environmental conservation and the role of youth in driving change. Special thanks were extended to our coordinator, Devi Prabha ma’am, and our EDF secretary, Carol Rodrigues, for their efforts in making the event a success.

The wealth out of waste fest not only entertained but also educated participants and attendees about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. The creative designs showcased during the ramp walk demonstrated how everyday discarded items can be transformed into stunning pieces of art and fashion. The quiz segment further reinforced the message of sustainability, encouraging students to think critically about waste management practices.

The judges’ insightful talk at the end of the event left a lasting impression, inspiring everyone to take small but meaningful steps toward a greener future. The success of the fest was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the EDF team members. Such initiatives highlight the role of educational institutions in fostering environmental consciousness and innovation among the youth.
