Hyderabad, Mar 24: A 23-year-old woman suffered injuries after jumping from a moving MMTS train in Hyderabad while trying to escape a sexual assault attempt by an unidentified man.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident occurred on the evening of March 22, when the victim was alone in the ladies’ coach of the Medchal-Secunderabad MMTS train. The woman, who works in the private sector, was on her way to Secunderabad to fix her mobile phone display.

After two female passengers deboarded at Alwal station, a 25-year-old unidentified man entered the coach and demanded sexual favors. When she resisted, he attempted to assault her, forcing her to jump out of the moving train to escape.

Passersby noticed the injured woman and rushed her to a state-run hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment for head, chin, hand, and waist injuries. She has told the police that she can identify the attacker if she sees him again.

Based on her complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 75 and 131 of the BNS. An investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the accused.
