Mangalore: National Youth Festival - DVS Wants Accounts within a Week

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jan 17: Karnataka chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda (DVS) said that he has asked the concerned to provide accounts for the grant of ten crore rupees released by the state government towards the 27th National Youth Festival held in the city. He said he has directed the concerned to place audited accounts relating to the festival before him within 15 days.

Speaking to reporters after the valedictory function of National Youth Festival here on Monday January 16, Gowda said that the central government has released a grant of two crore rupees for the festival.

“The festival, backed by the desire that the youngsters should imbibe the preaching of Swami
Vivekananda in their lives, was a roaring success. I am proud that a festival of this nature was held magnificently in my home district for five days. I know that there would have been some mistakes or shortcomings, and some vested interests may be capitalizing on them by engaging in malicious propaganda. But there is no need to give too much importance to them,” he felt.

He also said that he has instructed the district administration to begin the work of cleaning up the entire city with effect from Tuesday itself.

City has to clean the mess left by these youths. Already spent 12 Crore for the event and few more thousands needed to clean the mess. Only gainers out of these events are Bars,Hotels and stores along with Autos. We the Tax Payers are losers because We gained nothing out of it but we paid for it. Media should expose the mess at Panamboor beach. Even Sadananda Gowda created losses for Us by His presence in the City. Cost of flying into city by Helicopter,Escort service cost, Security cost, motorcade fuel cost and so on. Plus for not having enough of expenses, He created traffic jams which led to pollution, loss of Wages,Missing Classes at school etc. What a great state under BJP.
