Prashant Kishor slams Lalu Yadav, calls out family-centric politics in Bihar

Patna, Mar 24: Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor has launched a sharp attack on RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing him of prioritizing his son Tejashwi Yadav’s political ambitions over Bihar’s 13 crore people.

Speaking during his Jan Suraaj Udghosh Yatra in Begusarai on Monday, Kishor criticized Lalu’s recent statement about making Tejashwi the Chief Minister, alleging that the RJD leader cannot think beyond his family.

“In Lalu Prasad’s view, only one ‘Lal’ (son) matters in Bihar—Tejashwi Yadav. The welfare of the entire state takes a backseat,” Kishor told reporters.

He also took aim at Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar’s “migration stop yatra,” claiming it was inspired by the success of Jan Suraaj. Kishor challenged the Congress party’s commitment to Bihari pride, questioning why leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Kanhaiya Kumar remained silent on Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s alleged remark that “Biharis are born to be laborers.”

"Rahul Gandhi must answer. Their leaders insult Biharis in other states but seek votes here. How is this fair?" Kishor asked.

Further criticizing Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s domicile policy, Kishor accused him of sacrificing Bihar’s youth employment for political gain.

"Nitish Kumar is so fixated on national ambitions that he has sold out Bihar’s youth. He believes offering jobs to outsiders will elevate his image, but it is a betrayal of Bihar’s future," he alleged.

Kishor also slammed Tejashwi Yadav and the Congress for failing to address unemployment, citing their silence on key issues like the BPSC paper leak and the domicile policy.

Reiterating Jan Suraaj’s demand, he called for 75% of government jobs in Bihar to be reserved for locals.

"I even undertook a hunger strike over the BPSC paper leak and domicile policy. Bihar’s youth deserve better, and Jan Suraaj will continue fighting for them," he asserted.

Kishor held the Mahagathbandhan government responsible for neglecting the state’s youth, particularly during Tejashwi Yadav’s tenure as Deputy CM.
