Ahmedabad, Mar 25: Customs officials at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad have seized gold worth Rs 2.77 cr from multiple passengers attempting to smuggle it into India.

Details of the seizure

According to customs sources, the gold was recovered from passengers arriving from international destinations, concealed in various forms such as gold paste, jewellery, and hidden compartments of luggage. Acting on a tip-off, officials carried out stringent checks, leading to the discovery of the undeclared gold haul.

Investigation underway
