Mangaluru forest officials seize illegal timber transport vehicle in Ganjimath

Mangaluru, Mar 27: A truck carrying timber without proper authorization was seized by the Mangaluru Forest Mobile Squad at Ganjimath in Badagulipady village. Officials have registered a case in connection with the illegal transportation.

According to sources, the timber was being transported from Moodbidri to Mangaluru when forest officials intercepted the vehicle.

The seized timber and truck are estimated to be worth around Rs 2.5 lac.

The driver, identified as Hamid Valpadi, has been booked, and authorities have issued a notice directing him to appear for further investigation.
