New Delhi, Jan 17: Ahead of the assembly elections, Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra began her three-day tour of the Congress bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli on Monday January 16.

Speaking to the Congress workers, she asked them to get rid of all the internal differences in order to achieve success. She also stressed that 'factionalism' will not be tolerated. Though Priyanka will participate only in Amethi and Rae Bareli, party leaders are counting on her participation in the poll campaign to boost the party's prospects all around the state.

As soon as Priyanka entered Amethi at Babuganj, she faced the wrath of the party workers. The irked party men demanded that only a good nominee with a clean image be put up in Gauriganj constituency. However, the matter was soon resolved after Priyanka assured them that a good nominee would be put up in the constituency.

Speaking to party workers later, Priyanka said flying squad teams would be constituted at the village level to keep a watch on groupism. Priyanka told the workers that she would handle the party’s election campaign in Amethi and Rae Bareli, represented by her brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi respectively, and that she would start her Amethi tour from February 2.
