Patna, Mar 28: In a shocking incident near Marine Drive in Patna’s Digha Ghat, a youth allegedly shot a girl dead before taking his own life on Friday.
City SP (Central) Sweety Sehrawat confirmed the incident, suspecting it to be linked to a love affair. Hearing gunshots, locals rushed to the spot and alerted the police. The deceased were identified as Rahul Kumar from Madhubani district and Surabhi Kumari.
The police have recovered a pistol, two spent cartridges, and a bag belonging to Rahul. Forensic experts and a dog squad have been called to gather additional evidence. Investigators are also examining the duo’s mobile phones to establish the sequence of events.
This incident mirrors a similar case in Arrah railway station on March 25, where a youth shot a girl and her father before ending his own life. The police are probing all possible angles in both cases.
