Yakshagana Bhagavatha Satish Acharya dies in bike accident near Beltangady

Beltangady, Mar 31: In a tragic accident near the Kilar Marikamba Temple curve in Andinje, Yakshagana Bhagavatha Satish Acharya (40) of the Mangaladevi Yakshagana Mela lost his life in a collision between two bikes early Monday morning.

Satish Acharya, a resident of Piliyuru Mane in Andinje village, was returning home after a Yakshagana performance in Sullia on Sunday night when the accident occurred. He suffered severe injuries and succumbed to them on the spot.

The rider of the other bike sustained injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

 Satish Acharya is survived by his mother, sister, and brother.

A case has been registered at the Venoor police station.
