Udupi, Mar 31: In a significant breakthrough, Byndoor police have arrested three individuals in connection with a burglary that took place in Uppunda village. The accused had stolen valuables worth approximately Rs 3 lac, including gold and silver ornaments, cash, and a laptop.
According to reports, Janardhana, a resident of Bappehaklu in Uppunda, had locked his house and gone with his family to attend a Yakshagana performance on the night of March 10, 2025. Upon returning home at around 1 am, he discovered that unknown individuals had broken into his house and looted valuables kept inside a cupboard. Following his complaint, Byndoor Police Station registered a case.



A special police team, led by Byndoor circle inspector Savithritej and police sub-inspectors (PSIs) Thimmapa B N and Naveen P Borakar, launched an investigation with the support of station personnel Chidananda, Malappa, Parayya Mathapati, and Naveen, along with circle inspector’s office staff Ravindra, Ashok Rathod, Shankar, and Chandra.
On March 30, 2025, the investigation team successfully identified and arrested the accused involved in the burglary. The arrested individuals have been identified as: Yathiraj, a resident of Uppunda; Mahesh, a resident of Yalajit; Karthik, a resident of Nagoor of Byndoor.
During the operation, the police recovered the stolen gold ornaments, a laptop, and mobile phones used in the crime. The estimated total value of the recovered items is around Rs 3 lac. The accused have been presented before the court for further legal proceedings.
