Raipur, Apr 1: In a significant operation, security forces apprehended 13 Maoists in the dense and remote Abujhmarh region of Chhattisgarh. The arrests took place following a brief encounter between the Maoists and the joint team of police and security personnel.
According to police sources, the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of Maoist cadres in the area. As the forces advanced, the Maoists opened fire, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire. The security personnel, acting with caution, successfully subdued the rebels without any casualties on the side of the forces.

The arrested Maoists are reportedly involved in several incidents of violence, including attacks on security forces and acts of sabotage. Preliminary investigations revealed that some of the detained individuals were part of the Maoist leadership in the region.
