New Delhi, Apr 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the people of Odisha on the occasion of Utkala Dibasa, celebrated annually on April 1 to commemorate the formation of the state in 1936.
Taking to social media, PM Modi expressed his admiration for Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant traditions, and resilient spirit. “Greetings to my sisters and brothers of Odisha on Utkala Dibasa. May the state continue to scale new heights of progress and prosperity. Best wishes for a bright and successful future,” he tweeted.

Utkala Dibasa, also known as Odisha Day, marks the establishment of Odisha as a separate state, carved out from the Bihar and Orissa Province during the British rule. The day is celebrated with cultural programs, patriotic events, and various initiatives aimed at promoting the state’s heritage.
Several leaders and dignitaries also extended their greetings to the people of Odisha, lauding the state’s contributions to art, culture, and economic development.
