Mangaluru, Apr 1: The department of MBA, Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management marked a significant milestone with its inaugural intra-department management fest, SOLVION’25 – The battle of the power stones, held on March 26, at YIASCM, Kulur.
The event served as a dynamic platform for aspiring business leaders, fostering collaboration, strategic acumen, and competitive excellence. Inauguration and opening ceremony of the event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Hanna Shoukath, setting the stage for an exciting day ahead. the master of ceremonies, Ayesha Reem (1st MBA HAMT), took charge of the proceedings, followed by a prayer recitation by Mohammed Ali Akeef (1st MBA DMF).





















The event was graced by the presence of Mytreya A, chief operating officer, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), who served as the chief guest. The session was presided over by Prof Shareena P, vice principal and dean - faculty of commerce and management. It was attended by other distinguished personalities including Dr Niyaz Panakaje, associate professor and coordinator of YEN-REFINED and the MBA programme at YIASCM; and faculty coordinators Devika Shenoy and Rovina Soans, assistant professors in the department of management.
The traditional lighting of the lamp was performed by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and student coordinators, symbolizing the dawn of an event designed to inspire innovation and managerial excellence. Fathima Faumin (1st MBA – LSCM) delivered the introductory address, articulating the vision and objectives of SOLVION’25.
She emphasized the significance of management fests in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world business challenges, fostering problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork skills. The chief guest, Mytreya A, chief operating officer of KCCI, delivered a thought-provoking address, highlighting the plethora of opportunities available for MBA students beyond the classroom. He spoke about internships, industry projects, and professional networking initiatives facilitated by KCCI, encouraging students to actively engage in experiential learning. Adding an element of surprise and excitement, the official SOLVION’25 Trophy was unveiled by the dignitaries, sparking enthusiasm among participants.
Dr Niyaz Panakaje, associate professor and coordinator, underscored the transformative power of participation in management events. He emphasized how these competitions refine analytical abilities, decision-making proficiency, and teamwork skills, preparing students for higher-level competitions at national and international platforms. Competitions and Strategic Battles SOLVION’25 featured ten formidable teams, each named after a precious gemstone, symbolizing resilience, brilliance, and competitive excellence: ruby, sapphire, onyx, amethyst, emerald, topaz, garnet, jade, aquamarine, and peridot. Participants engaged in a rigorous series of competitions, each consisting of three challenging rounds that tested their managerial dexterity, financial acumen, marketing ingenuity, and leadership capabilities: 1. Reel making competition – A creative showcase of storytelling through digital media. 2. Marketing challenge – Strategic brand positioning and innovative campaign development. 3. Finance competition – Real-time financial decision-making simulations. 4. Human resource strategy – Conflict resolution and workforce management case studies. 5. Best management team – The ultimate test of cross-functional business leadership. 6. Brand rangoli – A fusion of artistic creativity and corporate branding. 7. Business quiz – A battle of business intellect and industry knowledge. 8. Debate championship – Engaging deliberations on contemporary corporate dilemmas. 9. Treasure hunt – A thrilling exercise in analytical thinking and teamwork.
The Power stone challenge – A game-changing twist A defining highlight of SOLVION’25 was the Power stone challenge, an innovative gamified element that elevated the strategic depth of the competition. Winning teams in each round were awarded Power stones, serving as a currency of dominance in the fest. However, the real challenge lay in safeguarding these Power stones, as rival teams were permitted to strategically orchestrate heists to seize them. This dynamic interplay of alliances, tactical defences, and strategic takeovers added an unparalleled dimension of intensity, compelling participants to think on their feet, adapt swiftly, and employ calculated risk-taking. The team securing the highest number of Power stones by the event’s conclusion was honoured with a prestigious reward, solidifying their status as the ultimate champions of SOLVION’25.
Valedictory ceremony and reflections: As the day-long fest concluded, the valedictory programnme was conducted with Sana Samreen (II MBA -LSCM) as the master of ceremonies. Dr Niyaz Panakaje took the stage to reflect on the event’s impact, emphasizing the importance of student engagement in competitive events as a stepping stone for professional success. This was followed by student feedback from both first-year and final-year participants, where they shared their transformative experiences and takeaways from the fest.
Prof Jeevan Raj, vice principal addressed the gathering, urging students to capitalize on every opportunity, refine their skills, and actively participate in events that enhance their managerial acumen.

The prize distribution ceremony was coordinated by Mohammed Raif (1st DMF), with awards and accolades being conferred by the dignitaries on the dais. The event culminated with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Shafna (2nd HAMT), expressing sincere gratitude to all faculty members, coordinators, participants, and volunteers whose efforts contributed to the grand success of SOLVION’25.
