Army Chief's Age Row: Defence Ministry Too Moves Apex Court

New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS): The defence ministry Tuesday filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in army chief General V.K. Singh's age controversy matter, requesting the court to hear the government version before passing any order on the general's petition.

The general moved the apex court Monday after the ministry in December rejected his statutory complaint, requesting change of his year of birth in official records to 1951 from 1950, which would give him an active service of one more year.
