Bengaluru, Apr 1: The state government has increased the price of diesel by Rs 2 per litre.
The Congress-led government has dealt another blow to the public, already reeling from rising prices. The revised rates will come into effect from midnight tonight.

Currently, diesel is priced at Rs 88.93 per litre in the state. With the hike in sales tax on diesel by Rs 2, the new price will rise to Rs 90.93 per litre. Since there is no increase in sales tax on petrol, its price will remain at Rs 102.84 per litre.
As trucks and lorries transporting goods rely on diesel, the direct impact of this hike will soon be felt on the prices of daily essentials.
