Kundapur: Deanery Catholic Sabha Organizes Camp on State Benefits

Kundapur,Jan 18: An information camp on state benefits available to Christians was held at St Mary’s Pre-University College auditorium, recently.

Catholic Sabha Kundapur deanery president Precilla Menezes, Anil Banz, Catholic Union state president and Catholic Sabha central committee treasurer Elroy Kiran Crasto, Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Alban D’Souza, Karnataka Minority Board district in-charge Sridar Bhandary and Kishore, as well as deanery secretary Vinod Crasto were present on the dais.


Tallur parish priest Fr Sunil Veigas, Gangolli parish priest Fr Alphonse D’Lima, Karekatte St Antony’s pilgrimage shrine director Fr Xavier Pinto, Trasi gram panchayat president Renson Pereira, and Brahmavar Credit Co-operative Society chairman Valerian Menezes besides 125 local Christian leaders and activists were present on the occasion.

Minority Development Board extends state benefits to Christians at two percent interest rate for education loans, micro credit loans, loans at low interest rate, and subsidy to set up self-employment ventures, Ganga Kalyan – financial assistance of Rs 1 lac to develop water sources, Rs 2.5 lac (50 percent grant : 50 percent loan) for manual labourers to buy 1 – 2 acre of plot, and other schemes.
Due to lack of information by minority department on state benefits for Christians, it was decided to draw the attention of the state administration to effectively implement the state schemes for Christians.
Kundapur deanery president Pricilla Menezes welcomed the gathering.  Secretary Vinod Crasto proposed vote of thanks and Elroy Kiran Crasto compered the programme.
