Tel Aviv, Apr 5: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday confirmed the killing of Saeed Ahmad Abed Khudari, a key Hamas operative alleged to be a central figure in the group’s financial operations.

According to an IDF statement, Khudari was targeted and eliminated in Gaza City on Thursday. He was identified as a “key terror financing facilitator within Hamas,” and was reportedly operating the Al Wefaq Co. fund — an entity that Israeli authorities have designated as a terrorist organisation for its role in channeling funds to Hamas’ military wing.

Khudari had allegedly taken over the financial conduit operations after the killing of his brother Hamed Khudari in 2019, who also played a major role in the group’s financial structure.

The IDF further stated that Saeed Khudari was involved in "numerous financial transfers to Hamas' military wing," particularly following the deadly Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

In separate operations, the IDF also announced the deaths of Mohammed Hassan Mohammed Awad, a senior commander of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement allegedly linked to kidnappings and killings of Israelis, and Mohammed Saleh Mohammed Al-Bardawil, said to be involved in psychological warfare and propaganda for Hamas.

The latest wave of targeted strikes comes after Israel resumed its military offensive on Gaza on March 18, ending a two-month ceasefire.

According to Gaza health authorities, at least 1,249 Palestinians have been killed and over 3,000 injured since the renewed hostilities began. The IDF has described the ongoing assault as part of a “new stage” in its Gaza operations.
