The Udupi District administration, police department and taluk administration have decided to take strict measures to reduce accidents. The police department has already installed barricades at black spots and speed brakers have been installed at all places to reduce speed.

There are many black spots in the Brahmavar area of the district. The Brahmavar Tahsildar and DySP guided the National Highway Authority of India officials to install barricades at the black spot locations and make appropriate arrangements, signals, and streetlights to prevent accidents.
There is a huge demand from the local public for construction of a flyover for Brahmavar. This will prevent accidents and save lives. A large number of accidents keep happening at few of the important junctions of Brahmavar and many lives are already lost including a 13-year-old boy who lost his life after a car hit him in Mahesh Hospital Junction.
Udupi district commissioner has constituted a technical committee to check the feasibility of the flyover or an underpass construction. Based on the report submitted by the committee the further action will be taken.
