Mangaluru, Apr 6: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), in collaboration with EG India Private Limited, is set to host HackToFuture 3.0, a 36-hour overnight hackathon that will bring together some of the brightest young innovators from across India. Scheduled to take place from the evening of April 7 to the morning of 9 at the SJEC campus in Mangaluru, the event aims to encourage technological innovation and creative problem-solving.
Building on the success of HackToFuture 2.0, which saw over 1,600 student registrations from more than 90 colleges across India, this year’s edition is set to build on that momentum. With the theme ‘Agentic AI’, participants will work on developing autonomous AI-powered solutions that require minimal human intervention. The competition will focus on key domains, including healthcare & citizen welfare, industry & trade, and construction & workforce management. A mystery theme will also be unveiled during the event, challenging participants to think independently and devise innovative solutions.

The hackathon has attracted participants from top institutions across India, including NITK Surathkal, NMAMIT Nitte, MIT Manipal, Reva University Bengaluru, CMRCET Hyderabad, IIITs, Army Institute of Technology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, R V College of Engineering, and Christ University. Teams that qualified through the preliminary selection process will take part in the 36-hour event, working together to develop innovative and practical solutions.
Beyond the competition, HackToFuture 3.0 will allow participants to engage with industry leaders and subject-matter experts. The event will feature key representatives from EG India and EG A/S, and Sheffield Hallam University, UK. The event will conclude with a valedictory ceremony on April 9 at noon, where the winning teams will be recognized in the presence of EG leadership, SJEC faculty, and other distinguished guests.
