New Delhi, Apr 6: EaseMyTrip co-founder and CEO Rikant Pittie has extended strong support to Union Minister Piyush Goyal’s recent appeal for genuine innovation and sustainability in India’s growing startup ecosystem.

Speaking at the Start-up Mahakumbh earlier this week, Goyal had urged entrepreneurs to move beyond valuations and focus on solving real-world problems through deep technology and long-term vision.

Echoing the sentiment, Pittie took to LinkedIn to highlight EaseMyTrip’s journey from a humble bootstrapped venture to one of India’s most prominent travel tech platforms. “Minister Piyush Goyal's visionary leadership has long inspired us to think big, innovate relentlessly, and pursue sustainable growth,” he said.

The EaseMyTrip CEO reaffirmed the importance of prioritising sustainability and innovation over short-term success. “At EaseMyTrip.com, we fully embrace this vision,” Pittie wrote, adding that the company’s growth is a testament to the power of homegrown innovation.

Revealing an ambitious plan aligned with India’s green goals, Pittie announced the company’s initiative to roll out over 4,000 electric buses by 2028, backed by an initial investment of ?200 crore.

“This isn't just about manufacturing buses,” he noted. “It’s about transforming how we travel while creating a sustainable ecosystem that drives economic growth and empowers local talent.”

Pittie further emphasised EaseMyTrip’s global expansion while staying rooted in Indian values. “Inspired by Minister Piyush Goyal's roadmap and driven by our unwavering commitment to excellence, we continue to push boundaries and set new benchmarks,” he stated.

“Together, we are paving the way for a future that is electric, sustainable, and unmistakably Indian. The future is bright, and we are just getting started,” he added.
