Mangaluru: Car rams into auto-rickshaw at Mulki; 4 injured

Mangaluru, Apr 7: In an accident reported on the Kolnadu highway in Mulki, a car rammed into an auto-rickshaw from behind, leaving the rickshaw driver and three passengers injured. The rickshaw was heading towards Karnad from Mangaluru at the time of the mishap.

The injured have been identified as rickshaw driver Abdul Basheer (35) and passengers Shobha (55) from Marakada, Bhavani (65) from Kunjathbail, and Vasanti (72) from Panambur.

The car, which had reportedly gone out of control, hit the rickshaw that was moving slowly towards Mulki. The rickshaw driver was thrown a distance away and sustained serious injuries, while the three passengers suffered minor injuries.

Both vehicles were damaged in the incident. Mangaluru North traffic police rushed to the spot, registered a case, and are investigating further.
