Bondel, Apr 7: In a profound celebration of faith and unity, the Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit and City Varado, under their dynamic leadership, jointly organized a four-hour spiritual retreat, Journey of Grace, from 4 pm to 8 pm at St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel.

The retreat, held on Sunday, April 6, drew a large gathering of faithful who came together in prayer and reflection. The evening began with a session of praise and worship led by parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza and choir master Br John, setting the spiritual tone for the retreat. This was followed by a solemn Way of the Cross led by City Varado members, allowing participants to meditate on Christ’s passion and sacrifice.

The retreat was prayerfully led by Fr Sunil Praveen Pinto, who guided the faithful through an evening of reflection and renewal. The Eucharistic celebration at 6 pm, presided over by Fr Sunil, parish priest of St Paul Church, Delanthabettu, was the spiritual high point of the retreat. He delivered a soul-stirring homily, emphasizing the essence of grace and renewal, especially in the context of the Jubilee Year.

Following the Mass, the faithful participated in a deeply moving Eucharistic adoration, offering a profound moment of divine connection and spiritual rejuvenation, leaving hearts filled with peace and gratitude.

A notable aspect of the event was the overwhelming participation of Catholic Sabha City Varado members, who came together in large numbers, displaying a strong sense of community and devotion.

Wilfred Alvares, in his heartfelt vote of thanks, expressed deep gratitude to Fr Sunil for powerfully conducting the retreat and to Fr Andrew for his constant guidance and support. He extended appreciation to Fr Fredrick Monteiro, parish priest of Angelore, and Fr Peter Gonsalves, principal of St Lawrence English Medium School, for their gracious presence and encouragement.

Special thanks were offered to Br John for leading the melodious choir, along with all the dedicated choir members who uplifted the retreat through their music. Alvares also acknowledged the efforts of the media committee, especially Alrick D'Silva and Jason Fernandes, for capturing and sharing the moments meaningfully.

Gratitude was extended to the Catholic Sabha Bondel Unit, with sincere thanks to unit president Stephen D'Silva and president-elect Sujay D'Silva for their leadership and dedication.
