New Delhi, Apr 8: Taking a significant step towards improving civic infrastructure in the national capital, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated a new water pipeline at BC East, Shalimar Bagh, promising residents enhanced water supply and speedy road repairs.
Addressing a gathering of local residents, CM Gupta said, “Starting today, water supply from this pipeline will begin. Residents will receive water every morning from 6 am to 8 am and in the evening for about half an hour. Previously, there was no evening supply—this is a change we are bringing for your convenience.”
In a further boost to the area’s infrastructure, the chief minister also announced the immediate commencement of road repairs. “Work on repairing the broken roads here starts today and will be completed within a month. We’ve also brought materials to begin revamping the central park, to make it a more beautiful and usable space for residents,” she added.
These developments are part of the Delhi government's broader mission to improve the quality of life in residential colonies and ensure basic amenities reach every doorstep.
On Sunday, CM Gupta had reaffirmed her government’s commitment to inclusive development, stating that the BJP’s guiding philosophy of “nation first” will shape governance in the capital. At a party event held at the Delhi BJP office, she expressed gratitude to party workers for enabling the BJP's return to power in the capital after 27 years.
“Under the leadership of our respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our party President J P Nadda, the BJP remains committed to public service. Our aim is to take Delhi and India forward, step by step, to become a Vishwaguru (global teacher),” she said, drawing applause from supporters.
As infrastructure works begin across various parts of Delhi, the government has called on residents to cooperate and stay informed through local civic bodies.
