Mangaluru, Apr 8: Milagres College, Hampankatta, Mangaluru, is under the Catholic Board of Education and managed by Milagres Church, Mangaluru. The College affiliated with Mangaluru University, accredited with a B++ grade by NAAC, approved by AICTE, recognised by UGC and Govt of India under Section 2 (f) stands tall as an institution dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development. It also has a tie-up with CII and KCCI. With its motto “Passion for Perfection,” the college has created a niche for itself in the field of higher education, offering diverse and career-oriented courses that cater to the dynamic needs of today’s learners.

The college offers a wide range of undergraduate programs across Commerce, Management and Science streams. These include BCom, BCA, BCA AIML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), BBA Logistics, BSc HS (Hotel Management), and BSc FND (Food, Nutrition & Dietetics). Innovative and industry-relevant specializations such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Aviation & Hospitality Management, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management, ACCA are part of its curriculum, ensuring students are prepared for the demands of a rapidly changing job market.

- Earn While Learn – Under this model, the college offers flexible timetable for students to study as well as earn at the same time.

- Free Life Skill Training - the college provides 15 free life skill courses such as GST, Basic Computers and Tally, Photography, Personal Investment Management, Event Management, Culinary Arts, First Aid, Dance and Drama, Yoga, Home Steady Skills, Crafts and Embroidery, Journalism, Beautician, Start-up and Spoken English for degree students, helping them build both technical and interpersonal competencies for personal and professional life.

- Vocational courses for 10th pass students, such as Interior Designing with 3D & CAD, Hospitality Management, and Flaring Skills & Mixology.

- Education through Vegetation – Green Initiative began at Milagres College long ago continues to support students’ education. The college grows vegetables and variety of plants by using organic manure produced in the campus. The income from the produce of the garden are utilised to support few student’s education.

- Learning beyond the classes, students are given exposure to service activities through NSS and Sahayoga Outreach associations by visiting hospitals, Ashrams, Schools and public places. A number of other associations like NCC, YRC, Cultural, Sports, Eco club too encourage overall personality development of the students.

Academic achievements and university ranks

Over the years, Milagres College has consistently been scoring high academic results, produced 9 university ranks, till 2022-23. In the Mangaluru University Examinations, previous academic year 2023–24, the college secured 3 First Ranks - Jesline Jane Rodrigues - First Rank in BSc HS (Hotel Management), Surayya Sadaf - First Rank in BSc IDD (Interior Design and Decorations) and Hajira Elfa - First Rank in BSc FND (Food, Nutrition & Dietetics). These outstanding results reflect the quality of teaching and supportive learning environment.

Beyond the classroom, Milagres College places equal emphasis on co-curricular and extracurricular engagement. The campus buzzes with cultural activities, including annual fests, talent shows, and participation in inter-collegiate cultural competitions, fostering creativity and confidence among students. A special coaching of Kabaddi with indoor synthetic mat is provided. Soccer training at newly established premiere soccer facility is also furnished.

Renowned companies like Atlantis Dubai, Novotel, Marriotte, Emirates, The Ocean Pearl, Maruti, Hyundai, Winnman Software, Ferns Icon, Diya Systems, The Taj in India & abroad , Radisson Dubai, Deltin have recruited Milagres students. In 2024-25, more than 100 students have been recruited by various companies.

Various International and National Academic skill development seminars such as Bhasha Sangam, Samanvay, Anweshan, fests like Avishkar, Excelso, Navrang, Theme Dinners are annual features of Milagres College.

There is an active student council which monitors the functioning of the college. They occasionally take up the responsibilities of teaching for all classes under the Student Governance Scheme. They run an open-mic show every fortnight which encourages students to perform and showcase their talents.  

In addition to degree programs, Milagres College offers practical, job-oriented courses that empower students with hands-on experience and early career opportunities. Fee concessions and scholarships are available for meritorious students to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder academic growth.
