Carmel School bids farewell to class X students with blessings, fond memories

Mangaluru, Apr 8: Carmel School, Mangaluru, organized a heartfelt farewell function for the Class X students of the academic year 2024–25 on April 5, in the presence of their proud parents. The event was graced by Sr Lilly Pushpa, the principal, Sr Premal, the vice principal and Sr Dr Prem D’Souza, the administrator, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

The programme began with a serene prayer service, during which the teachers invoked blessings for the holistic development of the students, praying that they may walk the path of truth, strength, love, and empathy. The prayer service concluded with a graceful prayer dance performed by the students, adding a spiritual aura to the occasion.

The class IX students warmly welcomed the gathering with a vibrant welcome dance. Following this, Joshua D’Souza, Sahithya, Anusha, and Sania from class X shared touching reflections, reminiscing about their joyful years at Carmel and expressing gratitude for the nurturing environment they experienced.

Teacher Sonia offered heartfelt advice and goo wishes to the outgoing batch, sharing stories and personal experiences that inspired the students to move forward with courage and determination.

A colorful entertainment dance by the students of class IX brought joy and liveliness to the celebration. Mohammed Ashraf and Premanand Churya, proud parents of Hafeesa and Akshaj of class X, also shared their cherished experiences as Carmel parents, expressing appreciation for the school’s values and care.

Sr Dr Prem D’Souza, the chief guest, in her address, highlighted the importance of carrying forward the values instilled at Carmel, urging the students to make an impact and leave a trail wherever they go. Through a meaningful story, she emphasized that each child is unique and valuable, and that their worth is defined by where they place themselves in life.

As a symbol of love and remembrance, the students were presented with mementoes, marking the transition to a new chapter in their lives. A special blessing ceremony was held, during which Sr Lilly Pushpa, the principal, Sr Premal, the vice principal, Sr Dr Prem D’Souza, administrator and all the staff blessed the students and their parents, creating a touching moment of unity and goodwill.

The celebration concluded with group photographs, capturing the memories of this special day, and a fellowship lunch, where students, parents, and teachers came together to share in the joy and nostalgia.

The farewell function was a beautiful blend of emotions, gratitude, and celebration—truly a day to remember for the class X batch of 2024–25.

The programme was seamlessly compered by Tr Lidwin and Tr Shylet, who carried it forward with elegance and poise. Tr Jahnavi extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the gathering, setting the tone for the day, while Tr Liffin concluded the event with a gracious vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who made the occasion memorable.
