Mangaluru: Konkani play ‘SBG Travels’ at Kalaangann

Mangaluru, Apr 8: The 280th programme of the Monthly Theatre series conducted by Mandd Sobhann, an organization that has been maintaining continuity in the Konkani cultural field for the past 39 years, was held on April 6 at Kalaangann, Shakthinagar.

Reinald Lobo, a member of the Mandd Theatre group, rang the bell to inaugurate the event. Mandd Sobhann office bearers Eric Ozario, Louis Pinto, Keron Madtha, and Alron Rodrigues were present on the stage.

Later, a humorous play ‘SBG Travels - Route No 2’, written and directed by Nellu Permannur, based on a concept by J P Thuminad was staged. The play, which has been staged several times before, successfully entertained the audience to the fullest. The cast included Nellu Permannur, Lancy Bantwal, Sandeep Mascarenhas, Deepak Coutinho, Maria Joyce, Jasmine D’Souza, Assumpta Pais, Joel Pinto, Gleran Vas and Ketan Rodrigues. The lyrics have been written by Wilson Kateel with music composed by Vanil Vegas and background music by Raveen Martis.
