Mangaluru, Apr 9: Observance of the World Health Day 2025 and inauguration of Homoeopathic Sapthaha were held at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College on April 7 in the College auditorium. The chief guest of the programme was Dr Mohammad Iqbal, district AYUSH officer and the programme was presided by Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, designate director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) and Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital (FMHMCH) accompanied with other dignitaries on the dais including Dr Girish Navada U K, medical superintendent, FMHMCH and Dr Jenita Fernandes, convener, World Homoeopathy Day 2025.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by the students of FMHMC.












The gathering was welcomed along with the introduction of the chief guest by Dr Girish Navada U K, medical superintendent, FMHMCH.
Following the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais, the inauguration of Homoeopathic Sapthaha from April 7 to 12 was symbolically conducted by the release of the flyers offering numerous concessions for the benefactors of FMHMCH like;
1. New registration and follow up-100% discount
2. Homoeopathic medicines- 50% discount
3. Blood test (CBC, RBC, ESR) - 50% discount
4. Urine examination - 50% discount
Dr Mohammed Iqbal, in his message, emphasized the scope of Homoeopathy in the mother and Child care following the theme of WHO for 2025 “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” He also emphasised the role of Homoeopathy medicines, given as preventive medicine, was noteworthy specially in reducing the number of fatalities during the COVID pandemic.
As a token of gratitude, Dr Iqbal was honoured with a memento by Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo.
In his presidential address, Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo recalled the history of observation of World Health Day started by World Health Organization and explained the need for it, also stressing on taking care of the people who are malnourished and also spoke on importance of good health.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Jenita Fernandes, convener, World Homoeopathy Day 2025.
Dr Sherlyn Paul compered the programme and it concluded with the institutional anthem.
