Mangaluru, Apr 10: NEXA Bharath Auto Cars launched Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle – the e-VITARA, at its exclusive NEXA showroom in Kadri, on Wednesday, April 9. The e-VITARA will be on display at the showroom until April 13.
The launch event was graced by Dr Vikram Shetty, professor and head of orthopedics, KS Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA); Shridhar Mallad, deputy commissioner of transport and senior RTO, Mangaluru; and Sharan Chilimbi, YouTuber and social media influencer, who were present as chief guests.
Sudhir M Pai, managing director of Bharath Auto Cars, welcomed the gathering and introduced the new vehicle. He also spoke about the growth journey of the company. The dignitaries appreciated the new vehicle and conveyed their best wishes to NEXA Bharath Auto Cars for success in this new venture. Pooja Bangera anchored the programme.
Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle – the e-VITARA – is an all-electric SUV built on a pure EV platform and proudly ‘Made in India, For the Globe’. Described as an ‘Emotional Versatile Cruiser’, it blends the technological advancement of an EV with the strength and capability of an SUV. Tested across extreme temperatures and terrains – from sand to snow – the e-VITARA delivers a fine balance of sophistication, comfort, and driving pleasure.
It is built on the HEARTECT-e platform – a dedicated EV architecture developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation. The SUV offers a range of over 500 km on a full charge, thanks to a high-capacity battery. Key features include an all-new Shift-by-Wire system, One Pedal Mode, and three drive modes.
The design is bold and futuristic, with matrix LED DRLs, sleek LED headlamps, muscular wheel arches, and a premium dual-tone interior. Inside, it sports a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and a host of tech-rich comforts. Safety is top-tier with seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
