Mumbai, Apr 11: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day visit to Maharashtra beginning Friday evening, with a significant stop at the historic Raigad Fort to pay homage to the legendary Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

As per the official itinerary, HM Shah will arrive in Pune at 8 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday morning, he will visit the memorial of Jijamata, Shivaji Maharaj’s revered mother, in Raigad district at 10:30 a.m. Following this, he will proceed to Raigad Fort — the former capital of Shivaji’s Maratha Empire — to attend a series of events organized in honor of the great warrior king.

Steeped in tales of valor, strategy, and leadership, the majestic Raigad Fort stands as a proud symbol of Shivaji Maharaj’s visionary governance. Shah’s visit is expected to underscore the national importance of Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy, which continues to inspire millions across India.

Prominent leaders including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, NCP Working President Praful Patel, Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare, and Minister of Women and Child Welfare Aditi Tatkare are expected to join Shah during the tribute.

Notably, HM Shah is also scheduled to have lunch at the residence of Sunil Tatkare in Roha. NCP sources confirmed that the Union Minister accepted the invitation.

It remains unclear if deputy CM Eknath Shinde or Minister Bharat Gogawale — the MLA from Mahad in Raigad — will join the lunch. Their absence may carry political significance amid the ongoing friction between the NCP and Shiv Sena over the Raigad district guardian minister post. Aditi Tatkare’s appointment had been stayed following protests from the Shiv Sena, leaving the issue in a deadlock.

Later in the day, HM Shah will attend a function hosted by a weekly magazine in Mumbai at 5:30 p.m., followed by a meeting with CM Fadnavis and senior BJP leaders at the government guesthouse ‘Sahyadri’ at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is expected to focus on the BJP’s ongoing membership drive and organizational strategies in the state.

According to BJP sources, Shah will not be addressing any public rallies during his visit.
